Would you eat chicken feet in Japan?

Hi, I’m Hira.
I’m from Oita, Japan, so sometimes I write about local food and culture from my hometown.

In Oita, Japan, there is a local food called momiji.
It is chicken feet cooked in a sweet soy sauce.

The name “momiji” means maple leaves.
The shape looks like a small leaf.

The skin is soft and a little chewy.
It has a lot of collagen and a rich taste.

In Hita city, a famous shop is 鳥市.
Many people buy it as a souvenir.

I have eaten momiji before, but I have never tried it from Torichi.
I’m curious to try it someday.

At first, it looks a little scary.
But when I tried it, it was very tasty.

There is not much meat, but if you like chicken skin, you may like it.

Would you try it?

※Some people may think real momiji looks a little scary!
So I used an illustration as the top image.

If you are curious, please try searching for real photos!
